10277302_10202793304387784_986464320080860977_nSandy Laipply is an award winning artist and designer who has been creating for as long as she can remember. She paints in watercolor, acrylic, oil, colored pencil and pastels, but her specialty is watercolor with pen and ink detailing. Sandy scans her work into Photoshop and manipulates it there, keeping everything in layers. Her work has appeared in a number of women’s magazines as well on numerous TV shows, at trade and consumer shows and various websites, and now in stores all over the world. She is currently seeking licenses in the giftware, stationery, tabletop, fabric and other industries.

Sandy was recognized as a Certified Professional Demonstrator by the former HIA and a Certified Craft Designer by the Society of Crafts Designers. She served as a Delta Associate Designer as well as being a Certified Demonstrator for AMACO and Fiskars. Sandy appeared every Monday morning as the “ Craft Expert” on Channel 28, Fox TV in Columbus, Ohio for over a year and has been a guest on many other TV shows. She enjoyed being the Papercrafts Editor for BelleOnline for several months but stepped down from that position when she decided to license her work.

After high school, Sandy’s desire to be a wife and mother overcame her desire to attend art school, and she put her art on hold for several years. During this time she worked as a cosmetologist, floral designer, Tupperware Demonstrator, cake decorator, Rubbermaid Demonstator, and full time wife and mother. Once all her children were in school, Sandy attended a T-Shirt party at the home of a friend, and next thing she knew, Sandy became a T-Shirt Party Demonstrator. She and her husband Bob became “carnies” selling custom made t-shirts at fairs and festivals. Since this took too much time away from the kids, she decided to give up the T-Shirt Trailer and open a retail store instead. She taught herself to screen print the shirts and later added sign making to the mix. Many years later, when sandy teachingher youngest son was in college, Sandy decided to go back to her first love, art. She joined the Society of Craft Designers, attended their educational seminar, and never looked back. She became very active in the arts and crafts industry, serving on the Trends Team and Designer Council for CHA, teaching at Trade Shows, industry events and manufacturer open houses, and designing projects for magazines, books, TV shows and web sites. She decided to begin licensing her art in 2010. Sandy lives in a small town in north central Ohio with her high school sweetheart, Bob. They have been married for 44 years and are the proud parents of 3 grown children: Jason (Kelly), Jennifer (Jim) and Judson (Erin) (yes, the “Evolution of Dance” guy). They also have 3 grandchildren: Ryan, Beth and Carly. When she is not working Sandy enjoys spending time with family and friends, any kind of art or craft, reading, dancing, traveling, boating and cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
